New Mexico Elk Hunters Fill Their Freezers

February 19, 2011

December 2010

My son, Bonner and three of his co-workers filled their elk tags before 10:00 a.m. on the 1st day of their hunt.  They had cow elk tags on a private ranch near Carrizozo, New Mexico.  This ranch had numerous elk and the hunting was very good.

Bonner’s pick-up was quite a sight with his welder in the front of the bed and four elk in the back half of the bed!  The shooting and the picture taking was the easy part of the day.  The rest of the day we all spent some quality time  skinning and quartering elk.

Pictured is Bonner Webb and David Montel.
