Trophy Rifle Mule Deer
Our rifle and archery mule deer hunts are private/public land hunts. What this means is the ranch is private land with public land intermingled within its borders. Myself and the ranch owner control the access to the public land portions of the ranch. The country ranges from the mesquite-cactus country of the Chihuahuan Desert to mahogany-oak brush covered hills.
On our ranch hunts, we use horses, ATVs, and 4×4 vehicles to get to our hunting spots. Once there, we’ll be glassing, taking advantage of stands and blinds, and spot and stalking. Basically we do what ever it takes to get the job done. Top end bucks will score in the 190’s. Accommodations are a comfortable ranch house or bunkhouse on the ranch.
To be able to hunt both the private and the public lands, you will need to apply for a Mule Deer license through the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish at www.wildlife.state.nm.us. The deadline for applying is March 20, 2024.

Trophy Archery Mule Deer
This is the hunt for the serious bow hunter wanting to hunt during the rut. Big bucks usually start running with the does around Christmas and on through January. Many times, there are huge bucks that show up at this time of year that we’ve never seen before.
Spot and stalk and stands are the preferred method of hunting during the rut. The weather is cold this time of year, but you’ll be comfortable in the bunkhouse at the end of a good day of hunting.
