8X7 Gila Wilderness Bull

by Gary Webb on December 28, 2009

October 2009

Kim Oeck of California, took this dandy 8X7 bull on the first morning of our wilderness rifle elk hunt.

I’d teased Kim earlier that morning.  I said, “Kim, don’t get caught with your pants down.  If you see something good, get ‘em while the gettin’s good!”

Kim definitely follows instructions well and shot this bull 45 minutes into his hunt the first morning.  Great job Kim!

Gary, that story sounds remarkably the same as mine! Seems like I remember you telling your mother-in-law at the trailhead that we’d be back in a few days. Somebody does their homework!

GREAT SITE, I GUIDE TROPHY WHITETAIL HUNTS IN OLD MEXICO. I HAVE KILLED 17 BULLS IN COLORADO BUT NOTHING OVER 345 AND AM LOOKING FOR A GOOD CHANCE AT A 360 OR BETTER BULL. LOOKS LIKE YOUR AREA WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE.
